Columbus Park is really in the middle of the city. A lot is happening in the suburbs though. The suburb of Midland (east Columbus) is really blowing up. A Wal-Mart Supercenter and 100,000 sq. ft of retail/restaurants are planned. Also, a 300,000 sq ft. retail center and a 160,000 sq. ft retail center are planned in the area. Nothing has been finalized, but there is a good chance that all of these projects will happen. Also, their are numerous subdivisions going in everywhere.

It is official that Dicks's Sporting Goods is going in near Kohl's. The restaurant is a Red Robin and is being built in front of Kohl's. Red Robin is like an Applebees or Fuddruckers. I ate at the Red Robin in Newnan not long ago and it was great. Fuddruckers will be open by October I heard. It is located at The Landings. Another restaurant that is going in is Jerry's Curb Service. It is a new chain based out of Bridgewater, PA. The Columbus location will be the company's third. Anyone heard any other announcements for the Columbus Park area?

Anybody have any idea what's being built next to HHGregg in columbus Crossing? I was driving by today and noticed at least 15 bulldozers lined up and some sewer pipes as well. I know there was supposed to be an announcement of some new development there.

I am not sure. I was in Columbus this weekend, and I noticed all of the construction equipment as well. I hope it is something big! I'll try to find out soon.
