I noticed in one of the photos that there is a banner hanging on one of the light poles that calls the street the "Music Mile."  Anyone know when they decided to name the street that...and what all streets are deemed the "Music Mile?"

Sounds like they're playing off of the Miracle Mile/ Magnificent Mile theme.

After a Google search, it appears they are now calling Demonbreun from the Schemerhorn / CMHoF / Walk of Fame up to Music Row the "Music Mile."  Not sure why they placed banners on 11th or 12th ave...but I guess they're just calling the area "Music Mile."

I like the name...but we have so much music stuff on different streets...it could be a little confusing.

These articles probably been posted before but it's very fitting so what's happening right now so for those who didn't get a chance to read it

Thanks for posting this; a good read.

Two things jump out to me...first, the residents are absolutely right in regards to addressing noise, as long as it's reasonable. Construction noise immediately around their condo is going to last for a little while, but in the long term it's fairly short.

The second is people fussing over views. You purchased a condo in a highrise in basically the CBD and expect your views to forever be preserved (all the while less than 200' off the ground)? I'd maybe let this mindset slide from someone who purchased in 2008 or so, but anytime in the last 4 or 5 years or at least since the first rendering of the MCC came out should have put together an educated guess that things would change. One lady obviously doesn't want her view blocked; luckily for her there's about 600+ units about 2 miles to the west to chose from. She won't have trouble selling hers as long as she doesn't mention the neon lights from the Hyatt (probably wouldn't even if she did mention it).

It goes back to a hilarious lawsuit from the owners in Twelve Atlantic Station in Atlanta when The Atlantic was built, partially blocking their views of downtown. Views are never guaranteed unless the building owners have purchased the air rights over the surrounding buildings, which is what the 1515 Demonbreun folks did over the Comfort Inn, thus keeping their pretty phenomenal Gulch & downtown views.

Encore will always be a solid and desirable building because of its location, which is about as prime as you could possibly ever get in Nashville. Walk to the Bridgestone, symphony, amphitheater, Lower Broadway, and even the growing restaurant scene nearby. Most everything else within the core is a less than 10 minute drive, Uber, etc. The condo values won't even dip because of location AND almost no inventory at that price-point.

You can actually buy the air rights over other buildings?  So...if the Comfort Inn ever decides to sell to a developer, they'll only be able to build as high as the current hotel?
