Went out today and snapped some photos of Salt Lake City's largest neighborhood - central city. Of course it's located in the central area of Salt Lake City (just south/east of downtown Salt Lake City). Anyway, the neighborhood is probably one of the most diverse in the city - with a mix of latino and black (albeit the black population is smaller).

So let us begin!

We begin looking up to an apartment complex - sitting atop a hill.


A lot of the streets in this neighborhood are very narrow. Like this one.

This is the Virgin Mary tree. In 1996 someone spotted the Virgin Mary in the tree - now it draws the large Hispanic community to it all the time. In fact people were there when I snapped some photos.

Nice photos . A lot of those remind me of my city, Flint, MI. Although there are a lot of differences - the most notable being that people actually live there, unlike in my city.

Well it's good that people live in these homes. But not so sure it's good that it reminds you of Flint.

Thanks. There are a lot of trees in Central City - and this was only a small area of the neighborhood. I could have ventured further south, but I thought I'd save that for another day.

Like SLC the street layout is all in a grid. I know many people get sick of the grid, but oh well. Central City has a lot of narrow streets that cut between the main roads (which are all _00 South/West/East.

That photo makes that part of town seem like its own seperate small town.

Sometimes the best parts of town (IMO) are not the places with the money, these pictures prove that for me!

Yeah State Street is mostly box-shops like the ones you'd find on small town Main Streets.

Salt lake City is truely unique from other places.
