Are you from Jefferson City if yes where would you like to see a Sam's Club go their because it's getting a Mernard's/East Side Wal-mart. Just got a Kohl's,Best Buy,Office Depot/so on and the Target expanding into a Super Target.

I completely agree that we need a retail center in northwest Springfield. I really think the area north of Lowe's on N. Kansas Expwy. would be a great location for some big box stores such as Target and Best Buy.

Costco's are in the St. Louis area and Overland Park,KS and Lenexa,KS and two others are in KC area.
Dick's could be going in Primrose Shopping Center.
Target up by 13 and 44 would be good.

How would I forgot about Dickinson Theater at by Battlefield Road... when I was kid, I sometime walk to theater from my old parents' house in good weather. Do you know why they closed that place?

The exterior looks very similar to the Palazzo 16 that Dickinson opened in Overland Park, Kansas in 2005. I have been there several times and while the building is very beautiful (Spanish influence, like KC's The Plaza), the management of the place is so-so. Dickinson promises a lot but doesn't always deliver. Their one-time "flagship" theater in Overland Park, the SouthGlen 12, barely lasted 5 years in the early 90's. And look how they bailed out of the Springfield market!

yes it is the fastest growing percentage wise... thats how they determine the high growth rates per MSA. I wouldn't doubt it if we reach a million people by 2030. This area attracts so many Cali's and young people because of the universities, cheap housing costs, and all the things to do. Plus Branson is becoming a second Vegas, just wait until the first casino goes in and then we will really see how much branson will boom.

and is poised to nearly double its population and employment levels by the
year 2030.

Where is Building #2?

Im sure most of you have seen the latest projects going on in Springfield like the intersection of National and Chestnut. They are adding dual left turn lanes in each direction, as well as leveling the intersection grade. This will be alot of fun once they have to start shutting down the intersection. LOL... Amoung other big projects the US 60/Glenstone Ave. and Republic Rd. Interchange is being redone.

Upcoming projects that will start in the fall are the I-44 Glensone Ave. Interchage which will mirror the Sunshine US 65 Interchange as well as H being widened to accomadate a center turn lane past Valley Watermill, and intersection improvements at McClernon/Glenstone and Valley WaterMill/ Glentsone. Then to the south the Intersection of Primrose and Glenstone will also be getting dual left turn lanes in each direction as well as making room for a third lane addition in both directions on Glenstone, something that should have been done along time ago.

There are other projects going on as well but I covered most of the major ones. If anyone else can think of any more please add them.
