Yep, it's called The Grove or sometimes the Call/Collins house. It was the former home to Governor Call (early 1900s). One of his descendents, Mary Call Collins, was married to former Governor Leroy Collins (around 1960s) and she took over the plantation style house. She still lives in the house (at least she did very recently - but I'm not 100% sure about today) and Governor Collins and many others in the family are buried on the property. It was also used as the Governor's mansion at one point when the current mansion was being remodeled I believe. It is such a missed opportunity. Many other state capitals showcase theirs and Florida sticks theirs behind some dumpy stores.

I with they bought everything up in front of it and made it into a park or something and showcased the mansion.

As it is, it is dumpy.

Today delta flight 1750, a Boeing 737 will depart Atlanta at 6:50 pm and land at Tallahassee at 7:53 pm. The plan will spend the night in Tallahassee before departing back for Atlanta at 6:00 am Wednesday.

Also Delta is operating a 737 flight on Tuesday may 20th, that will arrive in Tallahassee at 7:53 pm.

Is StarMetro still providing the Park & Ride service? Looks like now that service would be more in demand than ever.

I am still riding, usually about 4 days a week. I even rode up to target at bradfordville last week just to see it there was anything interesting along the way. There wasn't. But, if I needed to go up there for any reason it would be my choice on how to get there.

The Northern part of the route was contemplated in the summer, announced in the fall (during commuter choices week) and began running in December. The route was modified a few times to improve on-time performance during the soft-launch in December and January. For instance, they took out the loop through the Wal-mart parking lot on the north-bound ride because it involved two left turns at long traffic lights. This made things much more reliable.

The marketing began in earnest last month, as the bsh indicated, once the Marketing Specialist position was filled. The response to the marketing has been good, and a lot of new riders have been trying it out from the Killearn area.

Not that I know of but I know that Piedmont Airlines operated 727s and Fokker F28s at TLH. What I find interesting is that FedEx express just built a new facility that was over 3 times the previous facilities space, what would be needed to store the 35% more cargo space that the 757 has. I would not be surprised to see FedEx express 757s operating out of the airport in the next 1 to 4 years.

On my last visit to TLH I noticed that a DHL plane with covers over the engines I also noticed a DHL plane in the same spot when I was their in the summer of 2007. I checked DHL aviation’s site and it said they operated flights to Birmingham, but when I checked the THL site it said that FedEx was the only cargo carrier operating out of the airport. Any of you guys know why the plane is there?

I understand your point TD, but in the case of the Mahan proposal they were asking for the maximum density. I'm sure someone can come up w/a decent compromise between 50 and 509 units for the development of that parcel.

Most of the national acts I've seen, affiliated with or not with 7 Days and have been or almost been sold out. These include Keb Mo', Buddy Guy, Salman Rushdie and George Carlin. The local/FSU performances I've seen generally have less attendance such as FSU Opera and the Tally Symphony.
