HUGE turnout of spectators too, lining Monroe Avenue from Lyon to Michigan St at the start, and then along Ottawa Ave from Lyon all the way down and around Monroe Center at the finish.

I personally bested my Irish Jig time by 1.5 minutes.

I did my first ever 10k, sort of on whim, signing up Friday. Pretty stupid, since I've probably run all of 10 miles in the past 3 weeks. I turned in a pretty respectable 57:42 though, beating my 60 minute goal. I guess that mtn bike racing and training and commuting have done something to keep me in shape. My calves are like bricks today though. Didn't stretch them enough yesterday.

The whole event was very awesome and a bit overwhelming. Makes me wish I was going to be able to make it down to Bike the Drive (www.bikethedrive.org) on May 25, where 20,000 people bicycle the entire length of Lake Michigan Dr. It has a similar atmosphere, from what I hear.

it looks like it will be a little bit taller that Columbus One. Not that bad. Even better when they connect the road and I hope the city decides to dig up that little creek to turn that into a good size lake with a trail around it. Then the VB downtown would start to take shape.

I went today....wasn't really my style....the base condo was definitely nice, though it did have the feeling of re-used space. The interior designs seemed like they were shooting for MTV's Cribs.

Still, the ticket proceeds all go to a great charity, and it's always fun to see different ideas (both from the developer and the designers) so it is worth a visit.

That remains to be seen, but I don't think hiring Jeff will help their cause with the city. Jeff pushed the envelope with this legislation and really made City Hall mad. He did nothing to ingratiate himself to the Mayor. When you get a letter from the City Attorney saying you are in violation of your lease because you are not ADA compliant with less than two months to fix things it does not bode well for your future.
