I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it once or twice, but if not, then it is a really good find! Of course now some people will start thinking the market is saturated with this, with like 20 here now and 5 coming or u/c. But with a pop. of 1.2 mil and growing, I'm pretty sure that it is safe to say that the market can handle all of these fro-yo eateries. This is Zinga's main webpage. It's locations page has no place anywhere that says it is coming to RVA.

John Marshall Hotel

While new residents move into the spanking new apartments on upper floors, it appears The Residences at The John Marshall is launching itself as a new downtown entertainment center.

Its considerable size and capacity could put it in music hall competition with The National, Richmond CenterStage and Capital Ale House.

On Saturday, February 11th, from 7:30PM until 1AM, a group called THE LOVE BOAT LAND CRUISE will be performing in The Virginia Room which is the larger of the former hotel's ballrooms.

Because I'm trying to get in shape, I've been visiting my local Shady Grove YMCA, and was lucky enough to discover that they have put the new Richmond Magazine February issue up for reading while working out on the cardio machines. And it turns out it was this year's sourcebook! I couldn't read it all, but at the beginning was a bunch of answers from Richmonders who were asked what they would like to see in the next five years in RVA. Many were interesting, including mentions of light rail, BRT, riverfront development, a sparkling new coliseum, and of course, overall improvements before the big month in 2015 Right now I'm trying to see if I can pull up an online version of the sourcebook because I can't go to the Y tomorrow. But for the past 3 years I have purchased the yearly sourcebook, and it was interesting what people have said about Richmond's past, present, and now, future....everyone has their own visions for their city.... that's why we're the Capital of Creativity

Of course I agree with transforming the Dillard's into a Bloomingdales, mostly because the nearest one is all the way up in Tysons Corner Center. But its not the driving that's a headache. That place gets like a million people a day. Too crowded!!

The new bridge makes sense for when crowds are down there, Im glad to see it was paid for privately - does anyone know who donated this? The 2nd street extension also could be a good thing if they do it right (especially as it crosses the old canal bed), definitely improving river access.

If that Dillard's changed to a Bloomingdale's, it would transform the whole mall.

I didn't know about Hollister, but was surprised Hugo Boss lasted so long in the Richmond market. With Tiffany's and Vineyard Vines coming in just the last few months and last year's addition of Cinebistro, I wouldn't be too concerned about Stony Point.

I read the other day that the Metro Richmond area has gained 26,000+ in population since the 2010 census and now stands at 1,285,000+. It ranks 44th among US Metrpolitan areas.

On topic, I'd like to see Dillards convert to a Bloomingdales at Stony Point Fashion Park.
