I can't see CBL buying Four Seasons at this point. They're focused on Alamance Crossing, Friendly Center and Hanes Mall of late, with Oak Hollow Mall suffering for lack of interest and Randolph Mall holding its own.

The most interesting part of the article was the confirmation of what we heard Monday about the HQ location:

"One widely rumored bargaining chip isn't on the table in discussions with CEO candidates, people with knowledge of the process said. The board hasn't offered to move the company's headquarters from its longtime hometown,"

Personally we need change...but within reason. I don't know this guy but I know he attends almost all council meetings and he always makes comments and you can see in the minutes on the city website. I want to know more about him before I decide but alot of our leadership is OUT OF TOUCH and we MAY need some change. It is too soon to tell if I will vote for Mr. Montague...but I will look closely to his campaign. I think we need new and fresh ideas to further progress our city...even though he is old.

Yeah I noticed that! Why does Norfolk not have an electronics store (Circuit City went bankrupt and closed in Janaf last year with the other locations)? I also wonder why Chesapeake has 3 Cracker Barrel's (Greenbrier, Ches Sq, Edinburgh)...but Va Beach nor Norfolk...nor Suffolk nor Portsmouth has one?...not one Cracker Barrel... Retail is common sense in some areas but complex in others...

I feel we LOST Money....I mean how much money are we kicking out to take our kids and familys out of town on the weekends to enjoy ourselves?

How much money are we kicking out to PATCH UP these police stations and Parish Prision?

How much time are we waisting sitting at these un organized traffic lights?

Its Plain n Simple ...You Split it up...you only get half...Right? ...kool your paying for that....buttttttt....you are also paying to patch the other half up. and when it's time to Work on the other half...the prices have gone up...and your spending more money than you would have been spending

I do think it is Siemans, but probably an expansion of their steam turbine plant, as opposed to a new business line.

That said, I do think that Siemans will open an east coast LRT factory, and Charlotte would be a sensical location, but my gut is that isn't project "Cardinal"

Whatever it is, 650 jobs and a lot of investment is nothing to sneer at.
