I think that 7 empty spaces, in lieu of Zumiez, Character World and CB4U would be better for the mall and for Greenville.

Forever 21 coming to Haywood Mall. 15,481 square feet. Sears will be giving up some of their lower level space and go through a renovation for the new store. Construction bids go out January 21st.

No clue sadly. The bid package just shows the store and not the full layout of it.

I assume that Sears is selling off some of its anchor space to Simon or Forever 21, figuring that selling the space is more profitable than using it as a Sears retail store. 

 

That doesn't bode well for the longevity of Sears as an anchor.

I don't know the answer to this, but most of them I've seen have been women's only. In the one I've been in that had men's I did find a shirt I liked, but it was a small selection...not really worth weaving your way through crowds of teenagers in my opinion! My sisters will be thrilled to hear this though!

I see from some quick research that Sears is subleasing space to Forever 21 at multiple malls, as a direct landlord, bypassing the mall owner.

I heard yesterday that Victoria's Secret will soon be renovating and downsizing, leaving a substantial available space. Also they wanted to use the old Bakers spot as a temporary location but the landlord said it had already been leased. Anyone know anything?

Clarks is going into the space that Victoria's Secret is giving up. They will be opening in late April. This will be their first regular non-outlet store in South Carolina.

Bath & Body Works is currently in the old Bakers location while their regular store is remodeled.

 

Sears is remodeling with new tan walls and faux wood flooring replacing the carpeting as a result of the Forever 21 deal.  They are re-arranging the store, as well.  A lot of the left side of the downstairs has been blocked off with plastic and work is going on, but how are you going to access Forever 21 from the mall?  It doesn't look like it's going to run the entire side of the store as I thought it would.  Sears' elevator is on the wall that runs against the mall on that left side.  Will you have to go in to Sears to get to Forever (interestingly, they have put their new Juniors department right in front of this area)?  They have redone all of the entrance area in the new Sears theme so it doesn't look like Forever will be getting its own entrance from the mall, but I find that hard to believe.  Anybody know?

Going off the site plan drawings I have, it looks like there will be a direct entrance into Forever 21 from the mall just to the left of the elevator you're referring to.

That's interesting.  I don't see how that's possible with the current mall configuration....will they take the store between Sears and Payless (forget the name) out?

You are correct, fiore is moving next week into the art company space. Also, Payless shoes is closing. So I assume forever 21 will take that space as well.

If F21 is subleasing their space from Sears, do they have a lease agreement with the mall also, or has Sears bought that part of the mall to sublease (unlikely, I'd think)?  Sears' renovation is coming along.

Selah has relocated to the upper level of the mall. So that's another spot for forever 21...selah, payless and fiore.
