New projects on the West Side

Ten years in the future, maybe even less then that, we will not be able to recognize this section of the Bridge Street corridor. Rockford Construction must have big plans for the area.

DADDS Magic Bus and Limo – Property is for sale.

Swift Printing – This is property owned by city commissioner Walt Gutowski. The walk-out basement of 443 Bridge is where The Sovengard is proposed to go.

The Reinhart's own the Monte's and O'Toole's buildings and bars. I think they just own the Anchor Bar building, but I'm not sure.

Rockford Berge is a joint company owned by Rockford Construction and Berge. Their offices are located on 36th street. Berge is a Spanish construction company that mostly is involved in infrastructure projects like ports, power facilities, etc. I think the Rockford Berge partnership started when they built a windfarm together.

Four of the six remaining homes on Broadway just north of the proposed Sovengard are owner occupied. And north of 1st street four of the six unmarked properties are also owner occupied.

You should do this same exercise for North of I-196...

The Company I work for, Axios HR, just purchased 528 4th St. NW.  "The Enterprise Building".  We will be moving the full staff over late July, early August after some renovations and IT upgrades.  Here are some shots of the exterior and interior. http://www.axiosincorporated.com

Here are some photos of 600 Bridge now that it's open, the "ribbon is cut" and the first open house is done.  I also included some historical photos that I got from the GRPL.

It was fun to have a small part in renovating an old building...we're so happy how it turned out.  Very exciting times for my wife and her company.

Looks like permits have been issued to start construction on the 3 story new part of the Alabama Ave project. As you guys probably already know, demolition has already started on the old warehouse portion.

They've excavated the site for the new portion. I'll try and get a picture later today (unless someone else is in that area).

Speaking of this area, does anyone know what's going on with the proposed residential behind the Adobe (on Seward)? Seems like other projects have taken off much faster than the residential proposed there.

Joe

There's residential proposed behind Adobe'?

I'm thinking of the Lexington / Seward project that has been on and off the books for years. Cherry Street Capital was the last to give it a try. Is it DOA again (I know the last time it was brought up, the west side was fighting it because it didn't 'fit' the U to the Zoo plan). I may just be pulling projects from the graveyard. :) When are they building Lyon and Ottawa?! LOL

Ah, I think you're right. But I can't find anything on it. I'll keep looking..

Speaking of the status of projects...it seemed like they cleared the land for New Holland and it's just sitting (granted I haven't been down that part of the street lately due to all the road construction).  Is Rockford just making Fulton Place a priority? Street construction holding it up? I thought they'd be going up at the same time, but FP is racing forward and NH is just sitting.  Hoping it'll be serving in Spring 2016 like the sign says.

Then there's Harmony...these breweries all make us wait. =)

There's a bunch of excavation work going on. It's hard to tell with the road being reconstructed.

They're also going to town on foundations for the Alabama project, but again, hard to get into that area without feeling like you're going onto the construction site.
