Whether it's the Victory project or Carrollton Shopping center, or anywhere else nearby, I'm just ready for places to get what you need that are actually in the City. I am tired of driving to Jefferson parish to buy stuff. Hopefully at least one of these projects will actually be built soon.

Jazz museum planned for New Orleans

A $4 million project is planned that will transform the third floor of the Old U.S. Mint in the French Quarter into a multimillion-dollar jazz museum and performance space.

Construction is scheduled to begin in August, with the opening slated for spring 2010.

I recently came across a website for a condo project in the Marigny/Bywater. It's called 2212 Burgundy and the website is www.2212burgundy.com. Does anyone know any details of construction or anything? This would be awesome to have some new construction in that area.

Here's and interesting article about apartment development. They, I believe, erroneously state that 930 Poydras will still be 37 floors as originally planned.

I just found out about a project called L.A. Live in Los Angeles, across from the Staples Center. It will have several restaurants, a museum, theater, hotel and condos, and an ESPN Zone. I wonder if something like this is what the state has in mind for the old New Orleans Centre and Dominion Tower. This is, of course, assuming the project ever actually happens...

For what it's worth. Bidclerk indicates Trump to begin this August. Doubt it, but it would be great if true.

The Trump site is back up replete with a new video. Maybe there's still hope.

I saw a crane at the Cancer Research Center site this weekend. Looks like they are finally starting work on it.

Cancer research center is indeed underway. Preping the ground right now, with actual construction to begin by mid-april. Check out our posts with links on skyscraper page.

I think this is most likely the Saenger. Read an article on nola a few months back that said that a deal was done to get the saenger theatre renovated.

Brand new website has premiered for The Roosevelt New Orleans. This property looks to be quite amazing. A Guerlain Spa is an impressive get for the hotel( one of only three in the USA), as well as a new John Besh restaurant.

Im going to try and ride around and get updates on the many construction sites around the city.

FYI The new high rise project at 930 Poydras is scheduled to open by the end of this year. With the rumor of the economy having bottomed out perhaps another big project down town will be green lighted by then.
