Actually,

The tallest residential tower in South Carolina outside of Myrtle Beach is in Fort Mill. It is the abandoned PTL tower which I believe is 22 floors and was built as a condo by Jim Bakker. It is also one of the tallest towers in the state.

That is one ugly building! Fort Mill seems like a very random place to build something like that.

That building look like its supposed to be in the middle of the projects somewhere in Chicago

Yeah it does. It looks like the building the Evans family on Good Times lived in.

I like the idea of Myrtle Beach having 400 footer.

Are there any buildings in SC already 400 feet tall?

No, the tallest in SC is 349 ft.

Well personally I enjoy seeing a shock and awe type development. Everyone is shocked to some degree by Nashville getting a 1,047 foot/65 story tower which is the tallest outside NY/Chicago. It would be awesome if a Columbia developer built an 800 footer in the middle of the city. Maybe with the Nashville & Charlotte projects along with some surprise in SC, the Atlanta developers would get in gear and reclaim the title of tallest outside Chicago/NY.
