Can't wait until I run into some money. I would defintely enjoy living in the downtown area. Close to 5pts the Vista and can get to just about anywhere in the city less than 20mins. Suburbanian life sucks!!!!

i ran by the current building this morning...there was a notice that the tenants were moving. hopefully work'll start soon.

I walked by the building on this past Friday and saw workers moving several things out.

Capitol Places never wastes time; they just announced the redevelopment of the old main fire department and there is already a construction trailer out there and we haven't even seen the final renderings yet.

That is a hot penthouse, and what a view it will have. Capital Places rocks.

The trailer at the Old Fire Station has been there since the start of the Hilton construction and I believe it belongs to that construction company. I can't wait to see the plans for the Fire Station though.

That IS a pretty awesome view. First Citizens is really an aesthetically pleasing tower.

When is work supposed to start on this thing? I can't wait to see the transformation.

I attended the launch party last night. Man it was done right! Great food and Drink and there was probably 400 people there. They showed a new rendering of the building and virtual tour which are both on their website now. I talked to some girl and she said the expect it to be completed summer 2008.

Wow! They are really going to do a number on this building. It will be just as exciting to see as if they erected the entire structure from the ground up.

If the renovation ends up looking as good as the pictures, this building will be unrecognizable.

It's good to see this kind of evolution coming from Prioreschi. His other projects are more conservative, and understandbly so since, with the exception of 1520 Main, they are all adaptive reuse of historically significant buildings; this one is definitely more modern and contemporary, going up in a part of downtown with several historic structures in the vicinity and where little to no new construction is occurring. The contrast will be a sight to see. Who knows what other developments this may spawn in the area?

I don't care for the drab white balcony on the building. I know some creative archi soul out there can come up with something a little more artistic and appropriate for the rest of the redo!

yeah I am not a fan of it myself its still a box it does from a 50's looking box to the 70s black boxes

From what they had to work with, i like it. Simple but a big improvement.

In that area of with all the churches I don't think it would be right to be too bold. JMO
