With the new construction going on in fall of 2004, Downtown Kansas City is well on it's way to passing Minneapolis in total Downtown Office Space...

Currently 2,816,807 square feet of office space is under construction downtown.

Earlier this year, a study showed KC at 19,391,061 sq. ft. and Minneapolis at 21,993,225 sq. ft.

With the current construction, in 2007 KC will reach over 22,257,868 sq. ft. of office space downtown.

That is very interesting. Do you have the complete list of rankings or know the source?

For the 19 and 21 mil numbers, they are from http://www.urbanplanet.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=3470

Both Mpls and KC's downtowns are 3 square miles (officially)...

The amount u/c for KC comes from adding up the downtown projects under construction right now (duh ;))

That amount will definitely raise by 2007...
