I go to implosionworld.com which can at times be quite happy... but only when it's not about historical buildings getting demoed.

I like seeing crappy architecture and bad modernist buildings getting demoed.

But yeah, that's pretty seeing the STAT there.

I wonder if I can submit my photos to that website, it is a helpful tool in the future if you wanted to find out more about a building being demolished. Perhaps Allan could send them his Donovan pictures.

BTW, a few workers were pounding air out of loose soil at the Statler site. There are poles laying on the ground for a new fence around the parking lot I think. The 4 story building looks like crap right now, and I doubt it would make a very impressive renovation/reconstruction. Man, that site is so prime for a highrise.

Well it really isn't available for development as part of the statler site. Isn't it owned separately? I think otherwise it probably would have been demolished as well.

I hope when they come up with a plan for the site it includes buying that property and including it. I would hate to see a big beautiful building built around a small falling apart structure.

I'm sure once a developer comes along to build something on that site they'll purchase that building.

The damage on that building was caused by the statler demo.

(So I've read.)

They are likely to get a settlement. (One would assume.)

On a good note, the Statler site actually look decent, rather than a weed covered lot. That building in the center of it all is in need of a roof tho.

Speculation that Quicken could move its headquarters there. Other than that, no.

The little white building is still there. The grass lot where the Statler once was is now an unmowed, fenced-in eyesore.
