I regret to inform  you of the passing of longtime forum member and prolific poster Burt. He was are regular in the Richmond forum but also visited the other Virginia forums from time to time. He had a wealth of knowledge of Virginia history and was a valuable contributor to our community. He will be sorely missed. The members of the Richmond forum have made a thread if you wish to go and express your condolences. Rest in Peace Burt.

Want to say thank you for updating us on all of the happenings in Winchester. My wife and I are moving up there next year. My wife and I live in Richmond and were both born here but my wife grew up in Winchester and moved down here after college for a job as a nurse. Now we are moving back up and are very excited to. I fell in love with it when she introduced me to it.

The more I'm in VA, the more it feels VA wants to be it's own city on top of being literally the state.  This city/county separation is not even bitter sweet. It's straight up debilitating
