Two more hotels planned for the Point.

Source

Almost 20 years ago, I learned how to drive in the empty Hoescht Celanese (sp?) parking lot. At one point, it was looking like I could teach my own kids to drive in the same empty parking lot. Good to see the Point filling up!

Edit: RT beat me to the punch.

Funny thing, my dad tought me to drive there as well. About 11 years ago. We had to find a new place one the cops ran us off though.

I hate to say that I haven't read back beyond this page, but has anyone here seen the plans to extend Market Point Dr. through to ICAR? I'm not sure that road was part of The South announcement or not, but I had seen those plans about two months before they came onto the radar as Pogo.

Anyway, it may be "old news" for y'all. But if it's not, I'll try to post a copy of the drawing on the Off-Topic Photo section...assuming I can dig it up, that is!

I'm not sure if I like the idea of having a straight shot from Laurens Rd. to Woodruff Rd. or not...although it will probably relieve much of the traffic on Miller Rd. which I do travel -- and would continue to travel.

I haven't heard anything about this, but I'd definitely be interested in seeing a copy of the drawing.

Why not just post it to this very thread or perhaps to the CONSTURCTION THREAD that g-man430 started for the Point?

Isn't this the part of the road the city is building for South Financial? The idea of having this straight shot through, should also help relieve congestion on Woodruff, as many Mauldin area residents who shop at Greenridge can use the cut through and avoid Woodruff altogether.

I went to Whole Foods yesterday and it was packed. It was like Earth times 3. The best part is the massive produce section, I like that it is both Conventional and Organic and that they have the location where the veggies and fruits are grown labled.

They also have a huge prepared foods section with a brick pizza oven as well, very cool. Oh, and the herb and spice section is awsome as well.

There where a few negatives though, the aisles are very narrow, it seems everytime you meant another cart head on someone had to go in reverse. Also, didn't get to compare to many prices, though the convetional produce seemed competitive, but I did notice Illy Coffee was $2 more than Earth Fare.

I was in Whole Foods last night....huge crowd! They will do incredibly well here! Any sushi lovers out there, Whole Foods has the best (for pacakged/prepared).

Here's a good article on the opening:

Notice in the article that Whole Foods was referred to as "Greenville's first location?" I wonder if there are more to come... ;)

I had heard when Whole Foods first announced Greenville that there was a plan for two locations. Rumor was the second location was an intown / downtown location. Would certainly be great if a second store came to fruition!

That would be great if they built another store near downtown. I would like to shop at Whole Foods, but not bad enough to drive out to Woodruff Rd.
