  2. False. Having moved to Capital Heights in 2011, I have found that my neighbors (and I) do use the Cortana shopping area and would go to Target there. We do drive to Siegen or Millerville to Target, but would much rather go to one at Airline/Florida. And yes, we currently go there for Sam's, Old Navy, Lowes, etc. We do not, however, use the mall all that much except for the department stores. I would also add that you are over-valuing the average Target shopper... my experiences, especially at Siegen, are completely comparable to Wal-mart, not some "upscale" shopping experience. Miller

  4. Hmm, Stage, TJMaxx, Ross, and Cato come to mind...maybe even Belk on a good good day. I think a Target here would be too near the other one and Walmart to do very well. Speaking of Cortana: "Meno says he'd like to attract a "state-of-the-art theater" to the area, which he believes could serve as a catalyst for Cortana's rebirth." 6. Phase II of Plan BR has proposals for a green-space skywalk/overpass above River Road near the Capitol Visitor's Center to Desoto Park; that will have a promenade linking the new development. That will Connect River Park w Spanish Town & Capitol Complex. By looking at the most recent rendering...nothing looks to be taller than 10 floors...that should be no problem blending in with the 8-story Claiborne Bldg nearby...technically a "high-rise" is 12+ stories. To make this project feasible they will have to go at least 6-floors(as shown)...they don't want a unit by the river...they want a

  7. Ben West Library - I'm surprised there's been so little discussion/interest in adaptive re-use of the building. It seems few people see any value in it. It actually has some impressive qualities, including the huge windows, and the upstairs exterior balcony around the perimeter. I could see a restaurant going in part of the space, easily. Or a gallery, or a performance space. I'd be curious to see what would happen if the building were placed on the market with the condition it be reutilized.

  8. It's far from beautiful, but I can think of many, many more buildings in Nashville (from any given angle) that I would label "hideous" before that. If that is hideous, what adjective do you use to describe the base of the James K Polk building? Or the Parkway Towers?

  9. I need Icelandair to come to Charlotte. I'm trying to go to Iceland Airwaves in November and I have to go to Dulles in order to get a decently cheap flight. C'mon Icelandair.

  10. Well why not, since we're on the topic of weather and timelapse's, here's a time lapse of that snow storm coming in this past winter. Something Charlotte doesn't get much of.

  11. Thanks for sharing the pics! The improvements around Riggs Field will be a much needed upgrade to pedestrian safety along Hwy 93. Can't wait to see this completed!
