  1. just over heard at target. between a customer and a person giving samples "I just dont understand why people keep calling Nashville a city. LA and New York are cities, we are just a town with too many new people." "yes we are growing but they keep wanting to build all these new things we dont need like that giant new hotel and that stupid bus thing" I refrained from throwing some census data at them. then refrained from throwing something physical at them.

  3. Just a couple of pics I snapped today of some of the little discussed projects. The Residence Inn on West End (next to Hutton Hotel and across from Palmer Plaza) The new construction residences on Hayes behind Loews.

  6. People can be so ignorant. It is that attitude that has kept Nashville behind. I saw comments like that on Facebook on the Tennessean and local news channel pages when the JW Marriott and Bridgestone were announced. I just cringed. People make me shake my head.

  7. I agree that a York Co line shouldn't be a priority, especially with Nikki Haley offering incentives to Charlotte companies to "create jobs" in Fort Mill.

  8. Story behind Orlando's only 5-star hotel rating from AAA We finally got our first 5-star resort (now we just have to wait for the 7-star over on I-Drive! hmmmm) - definitely a milestone for our lodging industry. 9. UPDATED AND NEW RUMOURS I though I would once again post some possible rumours, regarding air-service from CLT. I really hope you all enjoy reading and dreaming about some rumours! -CLT-London Heathrow will remain 1x A333 and 1x A332 next summer, not double daily A333, sorry for the confusion. British Airways may still start Charlotte in 2016. -CLT-Frankfurt will be upgauged next summer to an A333 -CLT-São Paulo, if resumed will most likely be on an A332 -Qatar Airways executives have been toured round CLT, and may begin service next year.

  11. Really would liked to have been there. But really getting an eyeful in Austin. Cranes everywhere. More projects about to start. There are at least 10 Sobro type apartment buildings, probably more and most are taller. Austin is a good ten years ahead of Nashville. Elliston 23 projects are a dime a dozen. I digress. Welcome to the forum Mark. Looking forward to seeing you at the next meet.

  12. I wish this would happen. Talk about a great intersection. This on the north side of the street...and JWM on the other side!

  13. Solid turnout indeed. Thanks everybody for coming! It was nice meeting Vrtigo (Daniel), and Mark (from SSC) as well.

  14. It is bizarre that it almost never came up in public discussion relating to the highly congested 485. It was always just a "build the south 485 widening before the north completion" crap. A blue line extension to Ballantyne is unbelievably obvious, yet it has never gotten discussion anywhere public outside of Urban Planet. The routing itself could be found through a standard transit study. The Park Road idea would be almost instantly removed because it is too redundant with current Blue Line and would cannibalize ridership. Extending the current Blue Line is almost certainly

  16. Interested to see how the garage will look compared to 505 CST. I would expect for the design to be cohesive with the design of the tower. Hopefully we will get to see the updated renderings of 505 CST soon.

  19. This appears to be a new rendering of the Green Water office project (a.k.a. Google's Offices). Site prep is taking place, and an official groundbreaking should be happening soon: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showpost.php?p=6808382&postcount=3982

  21. I know Tony personally, and have seen the new renderings which look even better than the last one. This one is going to happen. I can't say anything more than that because I don't want to betray his trust.

  22. My issue was not with the contention that Cheatham Place should be repaired or even replaced, but with your stated wish that they "build a new development outside of the inner core to move those folks out."

  24. Yeah, it is. I'd take it over our Omni any day of the week, but I think our JW design is much, much nicer. Here is the front of the JW Marriott Austin. By the way, since hotels in Austin were brought up, specifically the Fairmont, has anybody seen that behemoth? I believe it just broke ground...It's huge! Here are the details: - $370M - 47 stories - 595' - 1054 rooms - 32 months to complete - 100k square feet of meeting space - aerial walk-way connecting to CC -

  25. I think downtown is a great location. You will get a lot of people who will go in who maybe didn't even know the museum existed and learn something about AA music history. Also...you may get people who are just going to visit the AAMM to then stay in downtown and visit other attractions.
