On that candidate's website, it says he will appoint a "transportation director" to oversee a transit plan. I thought that was Steve Bland's job.

It's worth noting that steelworkers have walked off the Westin and SESAC building sites. I didn't know they were paid such low wages. http://www.middletnjwj.org/unrepresented_ironworkers_strike_to_improve_standards -

Update on the greenway: It's already built, but will remain fenced off until all the construction projects are complete. The state garage is expected to be completed in late Fall 2016. The private development on 3rd Ave. is expected to begin by Fall 2015 at the latest. New signage will be posted soon to direct greenway traffic to Jackson St, detouring around the north side of the ballpark. -

I'm not sure this has been shared before. It's the Hard Rock Hotel that was proposed for the SkyHouse site. http://www.loopnet.com/Listing/16408197/17th-Avenue-Broadway-Nashville-TN/ -

It looks pretty good, but the trend of putting a "ramp" on the tops of buildings might need to end soon. It's a weird trend. Others that come to mind are Icon and Indigo on West End. I'm not sure about the curved glass part, but it's thoughtful to the curves of the MCC and is probably a more 'expensive' part of the design.- 301 replies

This was also a concern of my from the beginning. Initially, the developers/planners said the greenway would remain open during games. Obviously, this has changed, and they need to address how greenway patrons will navigate the area during games. Each event will be a clusterf* regardless. I'm not complaining, though. Another thing that needs attention is the great danger pedestrians face when trying to cross Jefferson anywhere between 3rd and 7th. The crosswalks are clearly marked that peds have priority when waiting to cross, but drivers speed through regardless. I'm the guy that always stops (and receives honks and glares from annoyed drivers) when someone is waiting to cross. -

There are several listings on MLS in Bordeaux for older, affordable homes. What's seems to be missing, however, are to-the-studs renovations and new construction with high-end finishes. The area definitely has advantages, but it's missing the type of retail and housing that many people would expect in an evolving neighborhood. Another positive aspect is the amount of vacant, developable land. I love some of the lots on Alpine Hill, and the area around Gardner Lane. The views are nice.

Clarifying what happened with the McDonald's. They decided to refurb the existing building to avoid having to conform to the UDO. As a compromise, they added a new building segment to the 12th Avenue side to bump it a little closer to the street. If they had demolished the entire building after the fire, they would have had to conform to the UDO. Similar situation with the diner, as far as that goes. -

I'm sure this is old, but I don't remember a Hard Rock Hotel proposal ever being mentioned for the corner of 17th and Broadway. http://www.loopnet.com/Listing/16408197/17th-Avenue-Broadway-Nashville-TN/ -

Wonder if the exterior additions to UBS will happen this year? There are a couple new images in this PDF. http://www.colliers.com/-/media/Images/Properties/idb/c/7/6/b8a048754250be68c4c5925365e3/Deaderick%20St%20315%20JS%20DR.pdf.pdf?la=en-US -
