    PROPOSED: iQuilt Pedestrian Enhancements

This was really just a tremendous project. It turned a traffic sewer back into a city street and really has the area around the park poised for future development.

    Development Map

    Yup. Works for me.

UConn moving West Hartford campus to city

I'm no so concerned with appearance. Npt Every building in a city needs to be a show stopper. Good cities are made up of cohesive blocks of functional buildings that interact well with the street and their surroundings. This pack of function and cohesion is one of the big things that has hurt and continues to hurt Hartford. This building is a big step in filling out the Front Street neighborhood in a solid functional way. That is all I need.

    DOT is at it again

http://touch.courant.com/#section/2403/article/p2p-80182257/ So once again, it looks like the DOT is pushing a ridiculous, oversized, and pedestrian-hostile policy that has the effect of rerrcting a barrier between neighborhoods. These pedestrian overpasses are ridiculous and awful. I thought the DOT was trying to move beyond nonsense like this? For All DOT's talk about a neighborhood friendly redesign for the 84 viaduct and yet they are pushing the same nonsense down the throat of a neighborhood that clearly does not want it. Unbelievable.

IN PROGRESS: 777 Main Street Residential Redevelopment

http://touch.courant.com/#section/2225/article/p2p-79756898/ Boom. Let's change this thread to "in progress." This one has the potential to be a game changer. This is ground zero for downtown and should have a ripple effect once it's on-line.

    Great look. I'm pumped.

I saw this the other day. I'm surprised we haven't seen this reported anywhere else. https://twitter.com/crdact/status/410158913305067520

Good call on the Governor's Footguard Building. Is it in use though?

How about the Capewell Factory? Gives them a nice historic location and plenty of space.

    Interesting sign downtown

I'm not sure that I consider this guy's plan for this lot to be particularly feasible. However, this is one of the most egregious surface lots downtown, so its nice to hear SOME talk about development, even if its in unlikely. The one think I did like that this guy had to say in the Courant article was altering the Bond lobby to open those big windows back up to the street. That is an absolutely huge no-brainer, I have no idea why it wasn't done that way from day one.

IN PROGRESS: 777 Main Street Residential Redevelopment

This area of town gets enough foot traffic on weekdays that retail should work here.

PROPOSED: Betty Ruth and Milton B. Hollander Friendship Center

Another big plus for this area is the Ford/Jewell Street reconfiguration that is in the works. Not only will there be a nice residential mass, but it will be a much better relationship with the park.

IN PROGRESS: 777 Main Street Residential Redevelopment

Anyone know what this whole project means for that weird extension off the back along Pearl Street? I always thought that it would be nice to reconnect that little street behind this building that looks like it used to go all the way through to Asylum, but something would have to be done to reconfigure the part on the back of the BOA building in order to make it work.

IN PROGRESS: Front Street @ Adriaen's Landing

Great news. I have to admit that there were times I was skeptical that this would ever happen. This could really shape up to be a beautiful area of the city once everything is done.

IN PROGRESS: Front Street @ Adriaen's Landing

I went today. The theaters themselves are beautiful. We got there too late to eat at the restaurant, but that looked pretty good. It seems like they might be getting some of the kinks out still, but overall it looked very nice.
