First Ward Urban Village / North Tryon Vision Plan

The rendering also hints that absolutely nothing else will be built between this project and the center of Uptown in the time it takes to complete it. Sent from my 2PS64 using Tapatalk

Charlotte's Light Rail: Lynx Blue Line

I'm dissapointed with the status of access to the Sugar Creek Station. The Station and facilities themselves look nice, but you cannot get to them from the Southeast side of the BLE. The newly rerouted #4 Bus (Belmont) will gladly drop you off on the far side of the construction site and you can walk to the pedestrian bridge, but this is not an ideal situation. I've read that the construction at Sugar Creek is scheduled to be completed by September. Any ideas as to whether or not that is on track? Sent from my 2PS64 using Tapatalk

    Drinking Beer in Charlotte

Any news on Fatheads opening in Charlotte. There was an announcement last year about them looking for a location with plans to open in 2018 but I haven't seen anything recently. Sent from my 2PS64 using Tapatalk

    MLS in Charlotte?

In my opinion, this would be a great ending if it goes that way. You still get to upgrade Memorial Stadium and Grady Cole so they can be used, and find a permanent home for our existing team. I think $16MM of tax money to rejuvenate this site is well worth it.

    Drinking Beer in Charlotte

The Rezoning Petition for the site discussed as being tied to Petty Thieves Brewing in Villa Heights went before City Council yesterday.( https://charlottenc.legistar.com/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=3103671&GUID=74FFC020-17E8-4083-AB2D-B1BE875E5820&Options=&Search ) I like the layout of the site improvements that were presented, including integration of some of the recommendations of the bike/pedestrian study, and I think that there will be more of these types of projects along this corridor as neighborhoods like Optimist Park, Villa Heights, and NoDa mature along Parkwood and The Plaza. Anyone with 'inside' knowledge know if this is still planning on being the site for Petty Thieves?

Nice article from the American Airlines in flight magazine (American Way) highlighting the influence of women on Charlotte's growing brewery scene. https://americanwaymagazine.com/these-women-are-reshaping-charlotte’s-craft-beer-scene Sorry - missed this already being mentioned a page back by Grodney

    Oakhurst Neighborhood

Ryan Homes was selling almost the exact townhouses 15-20 years ago. Does that make them timeless?

Charlotte trying to be more bike friendly

City Council Agenda material from Monday's meeting covering the Parkwood/The Plaza Road Diet (page 3) and a dedicated Uptown bike lane (page 4). https://charlottenc.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=A&ID=518100&GUID=F501F057-F225-42F7-BD42-0EB160A2A8D0 Includes the recommendations that were made to the City. For the Parkwood/The Plaza Road Diet, I am encouraged that they incorporated concerns from the neighborhood around the difficulty for pedestrians crossing the street in this corridor by modifying signals to include Leading Pedestrian Intervals at several of the existing crossings, and protected bike lanes between Hawthorne and Belmont. One interesting thing to watch if this is fully implemented over the next three years is how drivers react to the step down from two to one lane at Hawthorne, and how improvements are implemented at the intersection of Parkwood and The Plaza, which currently is a disaster of an intersection from both driver, pedestrian and cyclist perspective, in my opinion.

    Tax revenue Uptown vs Suburbs

By what means are lower density municipalities being subsidized? I get the fact that in the same city, a more outlying area is being supported by more dense areas through tax revenue, but what about a self-sufficient incorporated suburb? Take Cleveland, for example. Is a western Cuyahoga County suburb somehow subsidized by downtown Cleveland even though they maintain their own Police, Fire, Schools, Roads?

    Drinking Beer in Charlotte

This is all about a handful of politicians getting paid by macro brewers to keep things the way they are - has nothing to do with party affiliation or geographic location of the breweries driving for the change or sophistication of messaging or PR.

SREE Springhill Suites Hotel and Center City Green

The vertical LED lights at the "point" of the building (facing west) look really good in my opinion.

    Dilworth Projects (Kenilworth, Morehead, East)

Someone should make flash cards of all of the 4-6 story apartment buildings in Charlotte, and make a Team Trivia-Like bar game out of it - Who can name this building, or something like that.
