  1. That shadow could be a big distraction for ball players during afternoon games.

I guessing this is the site of the old McClintock Woods pool?
  3. Now that the Hurricanes are no longer affiliated with the Checkers the odds of the ever happening are now less than zero. The Hurricanes are scheduled to play a game at Carter Finley Stadium next season so if you feel like making a drive then you can enjoy that.
  4. That was the point that I was making, the team knew that this was coming down the pipeline from the league and therefor was in no hurry to sign the coaching staff. On the bright-side, hopefully we will be in a position to play in a packed stadium for the teams first game. Team sports in this country are going to be a mess for some time. It would suck to have a first season that Nashville and Miami have had with the start/stop then months of unknown, and now kind of a restart.
  5. It was pretty apparent with the being this late in the year and still not having a coaching staff in place.
  6. Important note: MLB has no plans to expand anytime soon.
  7. And now the teams announcement of name and colors is being delayed. Maybe they will wait until the team walks onto the field for the first match to reveal them, or they just settled on Charlotte MLS Club.
  8. See the problem here is that you are an informed person, meanwhile the MAGA's believe everything dear leader tells them.
  9. Meanwhile CLT continues to score F500 companies! Cruise ships? We've already seen how "safe" it is to stay on those during a pandemic.
  10. Missed this a couple weeks ago but it appears that the teams name and colors will finally be revealed within the next few weeks. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/more-sports/charlotte-mls-team-name-announcement-expected-in-june/ar-BB14MEWC
  11. The USL Championship (Independence) is looking to begin its season on July 11 in what would likely be a 16 game season. They are going to be playing at home stadiums where possible instead of a neutral site tournament like other leagues are doing. Would be nice to have a local team to root for, even if you have to watch online.
  12. I had no idea that cops was even still a show, where has it been for the last 10 plus years... c'est la vie.
  13. Gee its not like Charlotte hosted a major convention 8 years ago. You can put any state abbreviation after the city name you want, it would be better than the stain Trump and his crew would have left on the city.
  14. I'm doubtful that there will be fans at any sporting events for the next year plus. The NBA is already planning on not having fans in attendance for the 2020-21 season.
  15. Kansas City and Quebec have NHL ready arenas, Houston, and a 2nd franchise in the Toronto area get mentioned a bit. Never heard Charlotte mentioned for NHL anywhere other than from speculation on this forum.
  16. Same government was in place when Charlotte was the only city that bid on it, of course the current occupant of the White House always plays the victim card. There will be no black eye, it will be forgotten in no time.
  17. Was looking around on Fanatics earlier, Austin FC has a ton of merch for sale... would be nice to see something for Charlotte.
  18. That lot will end up getting a QT and a car wash.
  19. Turns out the Georgia Dept. of Public Health rearranged dates of their graph to make it appear the cases of coronavirus were on the decline https://www.businessinsider.com/graph-shows-georgia-bungling-coronavirus-data-2020-5
  20. David Tepper calls the stock market the 2nd most overvalued that he has ever seen. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/this-is-second-most-overvalued-stock-market-that-billionaire-investor-david-tepper-has-ever-seen-2020-05-13
  21. Charlotte Town was the original name of the settlement that later became Charlotte, I dig the name, although Royal Charlotte would be my 1st choice.
  22. Not a surprise but the AHL has officially canceled the remainder of their season. So I guess this means that the Checkers will be the reigning champions again next season?
