  1. Riverview/Roadway Inn is a "Dump". It hasn't remodeled since it's opening in the '80's. Needs a rebranding and more room. I agree with the article, "more hotels will be needed in the area. Clarksville has a beautiful riverfront. More needs to be done in that area. Riverside Drive used to be the main drag in Clarksvegas back in the day!
  2. Drive through Clarksville, then spend 2-3 days there. You'll find that there are not the same attractions, amenities, commercial and civic developments, and infrastructure that are present in similarly sized cities. I'll give then props though, that they ARE trying to place Catch-up! My point is that Clarksville IS a nice place and has it's charm ,but IT could be so much more than what it IS... The good news is that we/they have better Leaders with forward vision in place Today. James Jmes
  3. For decades Clarksville's leaders "thought small" and were opposed to growth. Now the growth is there and the city and infrastructure are woefully unprepared and paying the price. Better late than never I guess. James
  4. Anything is possible here. Murfreesboro has gotten expensive, but still cheaper than Franklin. Rutherford Co is very aspirational in terms of being an alternative to Nashville, Franklin, and Mt Juliet. James Opendra
  5. What about I-24W from Nashville to KY stateline... through Clarksville. It's only 2 lanes. I cringe every time I go through there. Not enough lanes to handle the volume.
  6. This project could usher in a redevelopment of Second street and Riverside drive (which used to be the busiest intersection in the state) . I can imagine many possibilities for the nearby Two Rivers Mall too.
  7. Now, will this serve as a Convention Center too? Needs a decent hotel nearby and the 40 year old Roadway Inn won't suffice. Clarksville's population is approaching 200,000 people. It maybe too small before it's even built....
  8. Where are the really high paying jobs ( $100k++++ )in our community to support these developments? Am I missing something or have I just missed out????
  9. Yeah. It has been open for quite a bit of time now. Rally nice renderings and pic though. Any news of redeveloping the "church" with condos, hotel and retail one block off the square? Seems that project has stalled?
  10. I just don't know how I feel about this. Pushing out the older homes with tall and skinnies . Gentrification at it's finest.
  11. So nothing like Sevierville or Southaven in terms of size? Maybe smaller is better...
  12. Why didn't any of the Big 3 ( Belk Dillard's or Macy's) move in out there? A great alternative to Rivergate...
  13. If Rivergate is on the down-turn--and it is. Where do folks on that side of Nashville shop?
  14. Seems like it would be more cost effective to just build a new school somewhere else?
  15. All it does is just shift the demand from established retail developments to the newer ones--creating dead or re-purposed space.
