  1. Wrong again. You can spread it by simply coughing or sneezing, releasing droplets into the air. This is from the CDC website: What counts as close contact? You were within 6 feet of someone who has COVID-19 for at least 15 minutes You provided care at home to someone who is sick with COVID-19 You had direct physical contact with the person (touched, hugged, or kissed them) You shared eating or drinking utensils They sneezed, coughed, or somehow got respiratory droplets on you
  2. A bit of good news. "Prisma Health sees recent decline in Upstate COVID-19 hospitalizations." https://www.greenvilleonline.com/sto...ns/5494570002/
  3. It is encouraging news about the vaccine. As for wanting our kids back in school, there is no one that does not want that to happen. It's not like someone that has concerns does not want kids back in school. Everyone wants their kids back in school.
  4. Most reporters on the main networks are objective. For example, Lester Holt is the best in the business. He is fair and shows no bais. He reports the facts. The cable networks are a different story, with CNN and FOX being the worst. However, as a conservative, I do like Neil Cavuto. He is very fair. I can watch Dana Perino too. The online only news sources are mostly bogus.
  5. I choose to get my information from real news sources that report the facts straight from the medical experts, not from conspiracy websites. Except for the small amount of nonsense that is posted by a few on this forum, I don't read any misinformation. Where would it be found?
  6. I haven't seen any of those "scientific papers". The only agenda Fauci has is to inform us and keep us alive. I say he has done a pretty good job of doing that, despite Trump.
  7. Who is they? Dr. Fauci never said that. He said there no was no proof that the summer heat would help. As I recall, Trump said that in March after hearing it from some source. Both the WHO and the CDC disputed what Trump said.
  8. Single day record of 2,335 cases and 19 more deaths. DHEC reporting number of probable cases at 470,000. That’s good news for the death rate. Bottom line, there are a lot of people walking around with the virus that don’t know it, but affecting other people that could die. Wearing a mask is vital to controlling the spread.
  9. Nevertheless, it’s a real story with real consequences. By the way, there are feel good stories about someone recovering on the news every single day. Maybe you should watch real news for a change.
  10. Fear-monger alert! Another case where a college aged individual with no symptoms spread an outbreak. https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/07/18/coronavirus-superspreading-events-drive-pandemic/
  11. The media reports real numbers, nothing more and nothing less. You choose to ignore the fact that the media has done a terrific job in the last month on putting a lot of emphasis on hospitalizations and deaths.
  12. The new daily deaths of 39 is not wrong. It’s a record for deaths in one day.
  13. Actually, you are wrong again. DHEC will not report hospital data for a few days, until the new reporting system is fully implemented. As of yesterday, it was at 75.9%. https://scdhec.gov/infectious-diseases/viruses/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19/hospital-bed-capacity-covid-19
  14. No fearmongering. Just stating facts. New single day record of 39 deaths. 1481 new cases. 21% positive rate.
  15. I believe the medical experts, the doctors from this article. The headline states a fact. Hospitalizations from COVID are out of control. https://www.greenvilleonline.com/story/news/local/south-carolina/2020/07/17/covid-19-hospitalizations-ridiculously-out-control-upstate-sc-wendell-james/5457506002/
  16. Remain low? 130,000 deaths? Seriously, I am normally an optimistic person, but todays report is depressing. Because many Americans are fearful of someone telling them what to do, we need to be fearmongers until there is a vaccine. This afternoon's Greenville News headline is, "COVID-19 hospitalizations are 'ridiculously out of control' in Upstate SC, Prisma doc says." Do you think that is fearmongering?
  17. I had someone to tell me that someone told them they heard someone say... All nonsense.
  18. Could a section of the Greenville Convention Center be leased to the SCDMV? NewSpring will be moving out by the end of the year, ending a long lease with the Center. Could be some decent income for the city of Greenville. Maybe sell the state part of the building?
  19. "Greenville DMV risks closure as $1B downtown development plan will raze its current office." https://www.postandcourier.com/greenville/greenville-dmv-risks-closure-as-1b-downtown-development-plan-will-raze-its-current-office/article_b7fb6da0-c61d-11ea-8936-ef07f8d61cce.html
  20. Read the ignorant comments to McMasters tweets.
  21. Good gosh. That is the most depressing report yet. McMaster needs to wake up now.
  22. “Stay away from South Carolina.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/stay-away-from-south-carolina/2020/07/10/58863756-c2e9-11ea-b4f6-cb39cd8940fb_story.html
  23. No, the citizens are devastating the economy by not doing the right things. All we have to do is to wash our hands, wear a mask, and practice social distancing. Had we been willing to sacrifice a few minutes each day to love our neighbor, lives would have been saved and we would be looking in the rear view mirror at this horrible virus. We controlled our own destiny, and we failed.
  24. Yes. I still think he is tad smarter than Trump, but that is not saying much.
