  1. Well, it's ugly, but a concrete foundation does not have to be straight in order to be structurally sound. I'm sure it'll be covered up in short order and we'll have a Meetup there to celebrate (to @Mr_Bond's chagrin).
  2. Makes me think maybe the West End district has some kind of restriction on enormous parking pedestals... Who'd have thought!
  3. Alas... I was really hoping those would fill from bottom to top like a spectrum analyzer. That would have been a really cool riff on the Music City vibe!
  4. And where is that girl running to, anyway?
  5. ^ Urban renewal at its finest!
  6. Panorama from a few shots I took in mid-December, as seen from the Nissan stadium club level balcony: EDIT: Upped the resolution so you can keep zooming. Enjoy the detail!

The park was absolutely trashed a year ago, too. They seem willing to make the sacrifice for such a big event and did a decent job of repairing the grass afterwards, so I expect this year will see extensive reseeding or resodding in the next few weeks.
  8. Coundn't pass up this sunset last week: This second one is a little fuzzy, but I'm including it anyway to show a glimpse of how the skyline is expanding:
  9. Last Friday, from my office window:

    Margaritaville Hotel,12 stories, 145 ft., 215 rooms

This hotel photographs well from precisely one angle--a characteristic it undoubtedly shares with most of its desired clientele.

I'm most excited about the "street pricing"!

The Transportation and Mass Transit Megathread

I live on a relatively well-traveled 30mph street in East Nashville. As I type this from my sofa, literally not even five minutes ago some hot rod moron just blew by my house doing at least 50. Within the past year, some other moron doing the same thing t-boned a local resident, rolled her SUV halfway down the block, and nearly killed her passenger. I am 100% in support of lowering the speed limits. I am even more highly supportive of actually enforcing said speed limits.
