  1. Seriously. I mean, is it TOTALLY against the laws of Earth to build the dome later? Cause, why not just go ahead and expand the stuff that money is ALREADY appropriated for, and if there's enough support and money for a dome in the future, BUILD IT! I just don't think they think about the future much.
  2. I think this could lead to a major downtown business explosion if managed properly. It'll spur more development in condos, filling the ones that are currently being built and already built, fills offices, corporations will be more encouraged to remain in town/downtown. This could actually reverse the current outflow of population if it works as well as we all hope. This is something major that could change the whole face, and maybe eventually the skyline of Bimingham.
  3. Thanx, the place looks like it's gonna be awesome.
  4. Dang, I really need to get back up to Tennessee. Maybe once football season slows down I'll be able to make some road trips. Always happy to return to my home state!
  5. So, I've been seeing these comercials on TV about HSV getting these flights from U.S. Airways. I'm confused, did they just as a boat load of flights or what?
  6. Do they have a rough map yet?
  7. I like the way that sounds. But, where are they going to find room to put in a lake??
  8. I'm glad this is finally going through, maybe they'll get most if not all of it done by the time I plan to move to town. It'll be great.
  9. That's a good idea. Cause, if you think about it, the Arena expansion is more of a sure thing. So, money made from the arena can be put towards Legion Field.
  10. It's astounding how long it took to get this approved, even with the Pentagon's support. It will do well for our future. It's weird how all of these jobs are suddenly flooding into the region as of lately.
  11. I read that. But, something about putting some kinda heavy covering on that old stadium scares me to death.
  12. ULA just got approval!!!!!!!!!! 200 new jobs are coming to Decatur.
  13. Decatur City Schools is looking at allowing students from other school systems to join in on the IB program at Decatur High and Austin. DCS Looking At More Students I strongly support this, test scores would go up. People might even move to Decatur so that they can live in the district and not pay tuition if they like it enough. This is a great opporitunity that DCS needs to grab.
  14. "The Brick" has announced plans to re-open at a different location in Downtown Decatur. The Brick
  15. Wow, it's been a great month for North Alabama now hasn't it. Here's something from the Breaking News on Al.com. Looks like, a helicopter assemble plant in Albertville 500 jobs, 200 jobs at Gold Kist expansion, and another 300 for Fort Payne for some national retailer. That's 2,300 big name new jobs coming to North Alabama that we've heard about these past few weeks.
  16. They've been discussing doing this for about a year now. The Pentagon just restated their support for the United Launch Alliance, and the FTC is expected to vote on it within the next two weeks. The ULA is expected to combine both of Boeing and Lockheed's ELV to the Decatur plant. Boeing currently manufactures all of their ELV's in Decatur, and Lockheed builds their's in Colorado. If the ULA goes through they will be all built in Decatur's plant. Here's the story: Decatur gets another chance at ULA
  17. Looks like the dome plan might be revived again, judging by this article in the Bham news. Dome gets more discussion
  18. Yea, the day after I posted that, I drove to Huntsville and I saw that they had gotten further along with it and said to myself,"Ok, it's NOT, just sitting there." Awesome, how tall is the current tower?
  19. Most of the peoplet that polled in to the Daily said they support an Ethanol Plant. Here's the story. Most support Ethanol in Decatur
  20. That's really sad. I saw the charred remains the other day. I loved The Brick, they had excellent food. It just goes to show how stiff fire regulations need to be. More occupants of downtown could have also prevented most of the damage.
  21. Lol, I read that in the Register. I was sad that I couldn't get to see it. I probably would have driven down there to do it, but I had to be at a marching band exhibition.
  22. Does anyone know when the new control tower will be finished at the airport. It's just sitting there, dare I say it, topless.
