  1. The West Warwick Riverwalk (a/k/a The Pawtuxet River Walkway Project), was created from the 2002 Rhode Island  Preservation, Recreation and Heritage Bond Question 2, where $3 Million Dollars was allocated out of the aggregate  ($14,000,000).

It was officially 'christened' in August of 2007. During the Great Flood of 2010, it suffered some damage along its trail way and the crossover foot bridge was washed out in the process. There was damage also to the Kiosk on the southside (Factory Street) that was recently repaired / reinforced with federal reimbursement (storm) dollars.

The crossover  bridge is slated to be reconstructed soon .. and that will allow pedestrians / hikers to walk along the rear portion of the Royal Mills Apartment Complex and further have access to the ADA approved ramp that brings walkers onto Providence Street (Rts. 115/w & 33).

This On-street portion of the WWRW Trail allows a traffic signal crosswalk to transverse the West Bay Greenway  (Washington Secondary Bikepath) and to proceed into Riverpoint COMMUNITY Park, where there is a welcoming Esplanade created by The JAYCEES as an award-winning 400 linear-foot Arboretum that leads into the 1.3 mile Senator Roch Riverwalk. The Riverwalk was opened in 1992 and the Arboretum was build in 1998.

These two(2) recreational entities surround the multi-field ball fields of the Park and are the center of public gardening and landscaping from April through October. The JAYCEES coordinate several events throughout the planting season such as Earth Day, Arbor Day, Ecology Day & Peace Prayer Ceremony, National Trail & Maintenance Day, Corproate Cares Community Days and the 9/11 Observance on behalf of the Town of W. Warwick.

Also at the Arboretum-Riverwalk are the National Public Lands Day & Make A Difference Day held in Septenber and October, respectively. The municipality is a certified Tree City/USA Community under the auspices of  the RIDEM and by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
