  1. Property records for that block are still showing deed dates from 1988 - 2010, all different owners. Does it take the city awhile to update the records?
  2. Got an email from Pelagic last night stating that even though they had been waiting for 3 years to move in to the space fronting Peace St, they have now decided to make the 300 Pace St location they're currently in their permanent home. So, any word on what's going on with that space?
  3. This is the most recent site review that I could find for this property. Things sure have changed since then (07/2015). https://gsa.raleighnc.gov/smb/ptlprdapp1/PTLPRD/PlanDev/Documents/DevServ/DevPlans/Reviews/2015/SiteReview/SR-007-15.pdf
  4. It's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the Willard itself.
  5. It's almost like a zen koan. What is the sound of one hand clapping? What is the color of wind? How do you hold a grand opening for a building that hasn't been built?
  6. Looks like someone is planning on turning Askew-Taylor in to a bar, converting the driveway on the left of the building in to a deck for outdoor seating.
  7. Yeah, I don't wish for all of those businesses to go away. As much as I'd like to see urban development come along while maintaining the current businesses, we all know that's impossible with the exception of keeping a Starbucks in the area. No, Mellow would be replaced by a Pieology, Mojos by a Whalburger, and so on.
  8. They should just go ahead and level the McDonalds, too. I wonder how much longer the suburban style Starbucks, McDonalds and other businesses will linger after Kane builds his urban design further down Peace St.
  9. Short story even shorter, they "have a plan" for bringing back the Village Subway's club scene. The Fresh Market isn't going to use the space and they think that, given the success of the charity event they did there a few years ago, they can fill the space with the right kind of venues.
  10. The city is holding a open house for the Person St / Blount St corridor redesign today. http://www.raleighnc.gov/business/content/PlanDev/Articles/TransPlan/BlountPersonStreetProject.html
  11. More apartments being built across from Heritage Park, behind the development posted earlier. Preliminary Site Review (pdf)
  12. Preliminary Site Review (pdf) is up.
  13. Yeah, it's the same people who own most of the rest of that side of the street. They don't plan on kicking Endless Grind out any time soon, but they're also not looking to fill in the void left by Flythe closing.
  14. Ninja Cow Farms? Never heard of them but they came up in a quick search. http://ninjacowfarm.com/farm-goods/ Looks like they get their cheese from someone else. http://chapelhillcreamery.com/
