Inside 440 - Berry Hill, Midtown, Vanderbilt, 12S, WeHo

Broadway Capital? This is the first I've heard of this. Do you know if they will incorporate the "World Famous Nashville Sign"? -
Kinda reminds me of Mooneyland.

Maybe there's enough room out in the Music Valley area or even the old Cornelia Fort Airpark property-you could build a bridge to it from the roundabout next to Briley Parkway. I suspect they might not want to get too far from downtown with all that is going on there.

I'm OK with the design but I wish they had used the darker gold color a la the Predators instead of yellow. I think the Pred's color combination is probably the best in pro sports. I also wish they would call themselves Metropolitan Nashville SC to pay homage to the city's groundbreaking form of government. And no their nickname wouldn't be the Metros-it could be the Mets instead-like the NY Mets. Just sayin'.

Finally! I hope this starts soon-any idea when it might?

Union Station would be the transit hub and Nashville Yards would be the main beneficiary....along with the rest of downtown. I think everything depends on CSX and if they build a new switching yard to replace Radnor Yard. There was talk of that on this forum sometime back about a proposal that would put a new yard somewhere SW of Nashville....don't know what will become of it.

The first thing they need to do is finish widening the sidewalks and installing the bollards on Lower Broad.......it looks spectacularly tacky with the temporary barriers. -
It takes me almost 5 hours to get from Cincy to Williamson County where my brother lives.....be careful!

I was living in Memphis when Bass bought Holiday Inn-sad day in Holiday City-definitely something Memphis did not need as it was about that time when the Nashville MSA population started growing past the Memphis MSA.

One possible solution would be to build a smaller building on 3rd Avenue right behind the current one-due to tech advances I doubt they need as much space as they have now plus the cable connections would not have far to move. Then you demolish the current site and some enterprising developer could get with the Historical Commission's photo archives and see what that part of 2nd Ave used to look like and rebuild accordingly.

Don't have one.....just hoping it happens.

I for one refuse to let it go....It is an iconic design that the skyline needs to counteract the preponderance of.....blue boxes.

The Hernando De Soto Bridge is almost 50 years old-first time I went to Memphis it was about 50% complete. It's probably due for a major overhaul.

I was watching a drive thru video on Youtube of Broadway yesterday and noticed the auto maintenance place underneath the Nashville Sign is closed. Does anyone have an idea of what may be happening at that spot? -
Well just change the Charter-wasn't SOF trying to keep the soccer stadium from being built because they thought it would impact the Flea Market?

I'm thinking a Davidson County Fair would be poorly attended so why not just get rid of the legal obligation?

Rebirth of Downtown Chattanooga (2006 and on)
bnacincy replied to Hankster's topic in Chattanooga and Knoxville
I normally can't stand parking garages above grade but the Chestnut Street garage is actually pretty decent-the street level retail helps a lot and the garage itself has some nice design to it-I like it better than some of the new above ground garages that are being built in Nashville for the condo towers. -
I'm all for it being the "Tennessee State Fair at Wilson County Fairgrounds" it just needs to happen ASAP. Wilson County makes so much more sense than the current situation.

They have got to get rid of those utility poles! -
The Podunk counties would benefit from 840 north as it would spur economic growth in those counties along its corridor. It would also make those counties more attractive for commuters to live in as truck traffic would be diverted around Nashville and thus make for a safer and quicker commute into Nashville. 840 south was originally sold as an economic growth engine.
