  2. Were you up in the construction crane?
  3. CHS expected to surpass the 5M passengers in 2019: https://www.postandcourier.com/business/charleston-airport-projected-to-surpass-m-passengers-this-year-boosting/article_914742c8-702a-11e9-b126-0f10f6456aff.html
  4. I've worked in the Semmes /Cowardin area almost 12 years now and it's amazing the transformation that has occurred in this area and what's coming in the next 1-3 years. The only disappointing item of note is the lack of new retail that has not followed the residential build. As I look around I'm not sure where it will be going as most of the available development tracts are residential. But much to be proud of in this area of the city.
  5. The city will make another attempt at securing a $16MM federal grant to build a pedestrian-bike over the Ashley River, parallel to the existing Ashley River bridges. https://www.live5news.com/2019/05/17/third-time-charleston-pushes-federal-funding-build-pedestrian-bridge-over-ashley-river/ Total estimated cost of the bridge is $23MM.

Still amazed at the size of 10 WestEdge. Not tall but a big footprint by Charleston standards.
  7. Expansion plans are being announced for a 2023 completion date to add a new concourse at CHS: https://www.postandcourier.com/business/charleston-airport-eyes---for-construction-of-new-terminal/article_e4dc609e-5fd1-11e9-a0e8-5f69315bdf70.html
  8. I drove by the construction site 2 weekends ago and I didn't think the cranes were any higher then the cranes used for WestEdge but it's also possible one or both of the St. Jasper cranes will be raised higher as the building goes up. But yes Charleston will never have any really tall cranes.

I would love to see Riverland Terrace on James Island annex to the city. And save those trees too! http://www.live5news.com/2019/04/09/riverland-terrace-residents-consider-annexation-stop-excessive-tree-trimmings/

  13. CHS passenger count for Jan/Feb 2019 up 13% over same period 2018. 2019 total passenger count projected at 4.8 - 4.9 M. https://www.postandcourier.com/business/charleston-airport-passenger-traffic-soars-percent-to-kick-off/article_80ccc4da-4c22-11e9-be68-93fe71d2f91c.html
  14. It's too bad the Wawa did not materialize for the Citgo station at Semmes and Cowardin. That's a sweet spot for development.
