  1. It is very much a bro place. Lots of Instagram pics and crypto advice going on in this establishment.
  2. While all of the upgrades are great, I would really like to see an upper and lower level for departures and arrivals. The roadway can get very congested at times.
  3. The airport just launched a new website detailing Project Elevate. https://flyford.org/elevate/. Check out the plans for the expanded parking ramp and new rental car area. Wow! Really great progress for this airport.
  4. Had a flight this am and WOW!! This project is huge. You can really start to see it peaking out from different parts around the airport.
  5. Across the street? Is that the old Tall House site from maybe 15 years ago?
  6. Starting to get closer to pre-pandemic passenger levels. https://www.woodtv.com/news/kent-county/ford-airport-travel-numbers-approach-pre-pandemic-levels/
  7. Implying that these folks will have some where to go and not be out in the cold.
  8. Well hopefully this will clean up the huge tent city that has formed over the last few months. https://www.woodtv.com/news/grand-rapids/homeless-for-the-holidays-tent-city-growing-in-grand-rapids/
  9. This project looks fantastic!! Glad they were able to preserve so much of the brick and stonework. https://grbj.com/news/nonprofits/nonprofit-converts-historic-seminary-into-senior-living-space/
  10. The Samaritas Project is really starting to look sharp!! Does anybody happen to know who is behind the renovations on Burton and Eastern? Signs up for a BBQ restaurant, Community Center, Barber shop and a mini mart. Hopefully will give some new energy to that intersection.

  12. Does anyone know if the passenger terminal expansion project is still supposed to start on time? I thought it was suppose to start in April.
  13. I think that is enplaned, not total passengers. I would think that GRR is somewhere in the upper 60's in rearguards to total passenger traffic. The Chart below is from 2017 when GRR was a little over 2.8 Million but that does not reflect growth at other US airports.
  14. WoodTV got me all excited again... https://www.woodtv.com/news/grand-rapids/land-deal-could-pave-way-for-201-market-development/ Dang....
  15. The Cottage Bar is for sale. I really hope who would buy these places would not change anything. Mike Wallace used to call in his reports the the Cottage Bar. https://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/2020/02/the-cottage-bar-one-of-grand-rapids-oldest-restaurants-is-being-sold.html

  17. There is a cinnabon cart in there as well
  18. 1 million more people flew out of GRR in 2019 vs 2015. That is pretty explosive growth. The expansion can't come soon enough.
  19. So the 2019 Airport statistics are due out today. Anyone have a guess as to where it GRR will end up at? Below is the passenger data since 2003. Perhaps 3.8 Million? 2003 1,976,833 2011 2,275,332 2004 2,150,125 2012 2,134,956 2005 2,090,505 2013 2,237,979 2006 2,015,846 2014 2,335,105 2007 1,990,896 2015 2,550,193 2008 1,809,445 2016 2,653,630 2009 1,771,465 2017 2,811,622 2010 2,185,924 2018 3,263,234
  20. Get there early and have a few post security drinks at Prospect Hill.
  21. https://www.woodtv.com/news/kent-county/demand-prompts-private-hangar-construction-at-ford-airport/ A new $7 million dollar private hanger will be built at the airport.
  22. https://fox17online.com/2019/08/27/airport-to-announce-expansion-new-airline/ Also mentions a $90 million expansion as well. Wondering if this is in addition to the projects already underway.
  23. It does has the appearance of the inside of York Creek, just with nicer cabinets. I also find it interesting that they sprung for video doorbells but went with individual AC units.
