I would suspect there are at least hundreds of spaces that businesses are holding onto even though they do not use them. This is necessary because they need to have parking for new hires and cannot wait 12 months for those spots. I worked for one such business employing 25 people and we kept +/- 5 spaces in reserve as needs fluctuated. Assuming others are doing the same that adds up fast!
Apparently there is a “public” meeting at 8am Thursday but I think they are intentionally downplaying this so few show up. I am personally in favor of the longer meter times but if they do that then they need to accommodate the regular parkers in garage spots. I know many residents rely on the street parking because of the park g waitlists.
