Things on this board get moved rather quickly these days. It’s a lot more active that it was say 5 years ago or 10 years ago. I will say this is probably the second most active board other than Charlotte.

Before the Great Recession there were a lot of active boards on UP and then bam, many just died and never came back.

I’d say most moved to SkycraperPage or SkyscraperCity forums, correct?

Always knew the South would get a late Summer bump, same seasonal pattern as last year. North gets it later in Fall. I am surprised it has been as drastic as it has been, even though there are plenty left to be vaccinated, thought those that are vaccinated and those that have natural immunity would damper it more. At some point it will drop like a rock like Delta did in the UK and India, hopefully sooner than later.

I believe cases are on the rise once again in the U.K.

As more electric vehicles become available and the conversion from gas stations to charging stations takes place. The same taxes imposed on gasoline will most likely be imposed on the electric you use to charge your vehicle. It might be hard to wrap our heads around right now, but electric vehicles are coming quickly and within 30 years gasoline will be a thing of the past. Also probably hard to find. A lot of countries are going to ban all fossil fuels altogether within the next 20-30 years.

I believe RNG will be the future of transportation.

For anyone who recorded the Grand Prix broadcast on NBCSN (or watches it if it rebroadcasts), there are excellent city shots around the 33 and 38 minute marks. The sky camera zooms back from the SoBro view and pans to the north, encapsulating most of the original CBD, while also capturing the view (albeit hazy) to the west, down Broadway - showing a developed canyon into the distance. Not enough of that shown, but cool when they did.

Would appreciate if anyone could screenshot and post such angles!

A unknown portion of the just-approved annual budget for Metro Nashville is slated as partial contribution towards the $48 million to put the 3.4 acre cap over I-40 along Jefferson St.  It will be known as the Jefferson Street Multimodal Cap and Connector.  Additional funding will hopefully come from the Rebuilding America infrastructure grant.

More behind the Nashville Post paywall here:
