  1. Walking out of Amos' last night I got a picture of the lighting. Earlier in the day we were looking at the courtyard area and I'm extremely impressed with the design. The black brick, stained wooden doors, and canopy's to match the doors all go together very well.
  2. As I was running by the old Joe's Doughs and Abari building yesterday morning I noticed a sign on the Joe's Doughs door that said something about 'Skate'. Then I looked in the parking lot and saw a half pipe being built. I checked the WebPermit site, nothing new as of yet. I'm wondering if this is where the Skate shop that closed in Plaza could be moving to.

  4. The elevator & stairwell shafts would already be 2-hour rated since they serve a high rise building.
  5. You can use fans to ventilate enclosed parking levels that don't have enough open area on the exterior walls to provide natural ventilation. That's what is used for the first five levels of the main parking deck.
  6. Amelie's to the left of Free Range would make for a great compliment to the current tenants in that building.
  7. Interesting. I've heard these rumors for a few years now. Everyone always says their not true, however I can't see how the landlord just sits on so much empty retail space for years on end. A rumor started on Nextdoor last week that Sycamore was going to build a tap room where Red on 28th was, across from Amelie's, but I just don't see that. You should post this in the Villa Heights thread.
  8. I just stayed at that Moxy last month and was blown away at how nice and centrally located it was for the price. The lobby is more of a bar than a lobby which was perfect given we were attending a bachelor party.
  9. I'm not sure. I was hoping to see something on the permit website that would indicate the tenant name, The only recent permits listed are the canceled Moo & Brew ones from a year or so ago.
  10. I see what you're saying now, and that's a good point. I guess I'll add that the cost of spandrel/glass to continue the perimeter of the building up vs a screen wall set within the footprint of the roof would be considerably more. EDIT: But I do agree with what you're saying.
  11. Yesterday there were contractors working inside of the old Revolution Pizza place. I couldn't find any permits so I'm assuming they are just doing minor interior renovations as of now.
  12. The '2501 The Plaza' project (https://42floors.com/us/nc/charlotte/2501-the-plz) was created as a project with the county plan review department on 5/9. Id guess we're a month or so away from demo then construction.
  13. Without the Screen wall that you're referring to you'd see massive cooling towers and fans.
