  1. Ah I stand corrected. In the Terrace rendering it looks like the theater is in the very bottom in the foreground. They must be selling pretty good to justify further construction.

Yeah it got a lot of press during filming. Hell, I was one of the idiots trying to sign up to be an extra in the film. The Book Caddy and Fort Street play a big role too. Also, like in The Island you can see the Penobscot quite a few times. I hope one of these times Bay will decide to film the whole movie in Detroit.
  3. Wasnt phase 2 changed since the theater is right there? I thought original plans were to take out the theater but enough people protested so they built around it.

  5. Could be knowing how those guys drive.
  6. Now thats thinking Ian. Heres a shot from the 17th floor of the Radisson in Windsor. Those streaks of light are the Detroit Princess passing by. http://www.flickr.com/photos/southen/933522519/
  7. Really cool stuff. I had seen the Stott and Fisher buildings before, but not the Penobscot. I really like that one. I agree about the copies too, I imagine some people would fork over money to have a minature Fisher building in their house.
  8. Haha I would certainly take a unit as compensation.
  9. Haha that might be two different phone calls or emails Ian. This really does bother me though.
  10. Interesting that a photo of mine is being used without permission.
  11. Two of Detroit's most prominent fountains.
  12. Wow I was there yesterday and didnt see anything up. I guess they were waiting for River Days. I was still under the impression that the building was going to be worked into the state park as some sort of center. Im glad it will be saved in one way or another, looks like a cool place to call home.
  13. Cool shots. Id love to see some sort of trolley brought to the east riverfront. They could probably do something with a line stretching from the Ren Cen to Belles Isle or even perhaps over the MacArthur Bridge to a stop on Belle Isle. I think that would be a neat way of linking Belle Isle to downtown and the new residential district for those who cant walk the whole riverwalk and dont want to drive a car.
  14. Heres a couple, first Penobscot, second Ren Cen. http://www.flickr.com/photos/southen/514830025/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/southen/516863259/
  15. Sunset from Belle Isle. Titled it "Icarus". I think it fits. http://www.flickr.com/photos/southen/511656296/
  16. Yeah I cant wait for the fountain to be working again either. MCS

  18. Another Book Tower shot.
  19. Thanks for the tour. I really like the Mid Med lofts. Really a cool and creative project. Im not sure if im liking Motor City so much now after seeing that tower and detailing. I guess its still too early to tell though.
