  1. this gets better and better I think I am going to my uncles tonight, I could borrow his and scan it
  2. According to this, posted 2 days ago, the CDOT plans on doing more for the Groton-New London airport than anywhere else!! http://www.ct.gov/dot/cwp/view.asp?Q=328374&A=1527 That really is a BIGG IF though. I lived in Newburgh for 2 years, it is no picnic. Just as you cross the bridge into Newburgh over the Hudson, 84 just falls apart. It is in bad shape, the airport is old, the city is having ALOT of crime/drug issues(not that that will defer air travelers..just saying..)
  3. Jet Blue would be awesome. Nice new planes, every seat with their own tv screen. Dont know if they still are, but for a while there, they were doing nonstop NY to Boston or vice versa for $25 one way, bought 7 days in advance
  4. WAY cheaper...saved me and 5 friends hundreds to get a ride to union place, take CT LIMO's daily trip to JFK...and fly from there..as opposed to bradley
  5. I shouldve specified and said downtown. Younger professionals and college grads typically cant afford to live downtown.
  6. needs more AFFORDABLE housing....im looking for a new place come february...nothing reasonable downtown.
  7. I cant get over how ugly the top of the building is
  8. Does anyone find it Oh-So interesting how long the state has been considering/procrastinating rail service? We are told 2011 it will begin. NYT article on Conneticut considering this serivce, dated 1986 http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html...752C1A960948260
  9. Yikes...how do newspapers let typos slip in the titles of their articles...ouch

  11. About a month ago, I went to a beer festival in Providence- The Dunkin Donuts Center. HUGE crowd. They had to start turning people down at the door. Hartford needs a crowd like that. I feel like Hartford turns into the sh*tshow of the surrounding cities/towns. In providence, this was great. Everyone was mature about it. It was a great time.
  12. The North End is farrrrr from a ghetoo!
  13. Very smart man. A little while back manchester did let section 8 housing in...which is a good way to get bad pr(even though farmington has sec.8 as well) Manchester is rapidly growing more urban- ESPECIALLY with schools. I remember at Manchester High School we had 2 bus fulls of students sent over from Hartford everyday. Part of programs to get students out of the city. This did give them an advantage- But sort of helped send the education force in manchester a little downhill. Im not saying that is the sole reason. There are many. A need for a new High School is overdue. Discussions have been started and dropped constantly- Main issue- no where to put it! No logical land/money choice can be determined- and I believe theyre gonna get off just renovating the building again. They already have portable classrooms with more to come. Ironic how so many business can pop up out of nowhere in Buckland but a school cant be initiated.
  14. Hi, Born and raised in Manchester. 2 years college in NY, 2nd year college in Boston. I have an interest for the cities of Hartford and Boston. Im not the typical Bostonian who will just badmouth a city like Hartford because it is where I am from and there is alot of hope for it. My family owns a bussiness over towards Bristol. I know ALOT about Manchester. Guess thats it for now!
