A county with over 136.000 people such as Brunswick County and one that is the 2nd fastest growing county in the state deserves its own thread. Brunsco as the locals call it was the fastest growing county in the state for many years now only bested by Johnston County. Tourists by the thousands flock to the 4 island beach towns and to historic Southport. Northern end of the county by Leland is booming with overflow growth from Wilmington. Some photos from the county on a rainy cloudy winter day. Tallest building in Brunswick County is the 16 story (at 195 feet tall) Ocean Point condo tower in Ocean Isle Beach the only building over 4 stories on the entire Brunswick county coast. After this high rises were banned as they did not want to be swamped with them like Myrtle Beach just to the south (which by the way you can see from OIB or Sunset) Oh and new construction of SF homes booming all over the county even on Ocean Isle where I counted at least 30 going up on just the east end of the island where also there is the most erosion. Perhaps waiting for the 1st and 2nd row homes to fall in ocean so they will have ocean views. But the whole county is booming.
