I'm not sure you can see it easily, but these old grown-over stairs to empty lots are all over first ward. they are remnants of urban renewal, where an old house was removed, but nothing was built there since. This on it on 9th St, half a block from Tryon.:

Nice pictures... I can't believe Johnson & Wales knocked down those buildings to put a flat parking lot fronting the street (and it's Trade Street)! :angry: They could of kept those buildings there to shield the flat parking lot - They could of been used as retail/restaurants - I don't understand it...

Thank you guys! I do have another set for later, too, but didn't want to annoy people with so many pics.

I'm glad you all enjoyed them. I live within blocks of many of those subjects, so they are often overlooked, but are interesting again when you go to photograph them for others.

you've done it once again... keep them coming man.

Also do you post these anywhere else... I think they are a great way of showing off our wonderful city... if you aren't... maybe you can link it to the photo page or other pages where charlotte isn't as well known
