It was the Reflection Studio that was where the Gibson is.  They named it Gibson after the guitar in honor of the old studio.

I think Reflection Studio used the church building for a period of time as well... not sure if any albums of note were recorded in that era or not... or if they officially "moved" their operations into the church.  They might have just used it to get a different sound?

Looks, like they are building their new HQ from Piedmont/Central (to the right of Roberts & Richmond) all the way to the new bank that they have just started building next to Central Coffee they are in process of building. 

They then plan to sell the old HQ and land from the left of Roberts and Richmond PA after construction of the new HQ is complete in Q2 2024. 

"Charlotte Metro Credit Union will break ground on a new headquarters in the Elizabeth neighborhood in 2023.

The two-story, 48,000-square-foot building will be at Central Avenue and Piedmont Street. It will feature a second-floor terrace, an atrium space, two underground parking levels and a training room. The new location, with its rain-scene façade, will be able to house just under 200 employees, said Eric Gelly, president and CEO at CMCU."

Got a notice today that Charlotte Metro CU has officially rebranded to... Skyla Credit Union. Hew boy.

This is relatively minor but can we not keep losing business names that include Charlotte or Queen City or Carolina or something in them? It's a nice small way to add regional pride.

Rode through Plaza-Midwood and it’s incredible how built out it already is.  Very dense.  SouthEnd & NoDa as well as other areas up & down the Blue Line Corridor have had more available lots to develop it would seem.

Just in the nearly 4 years I've been in Charlotte, I'm so proud to see so many surface lots getting gobbled up for other uses.

I was by this project over the weekend and was surprised how close to Central the poured columns were. I was surprised to look at the plans and see that it's a 24' setback. Maybe my hangover skewed by depth perception...

Used to be so much info here! Where is everybody? I am wondering about who the owners or tenets will be in so many of the actively renovating or newly emptied  buildings - 2 old pawn shops, Reggae Central, The old Presbyterian church, Slate Interiors and what is going on with the newly tacky/poorly painted Peculiar Rabbit??  Where's the best place or how does one find out on their own? Thank you!

Walk by photos new Commonwealth and downtown PM.  Today.   Really a shame the CVS could hot have been incorporated into the larger project.  PM has great little apartment buildings which we need more of and they tend to be cheaper rents than the huge ones with tons of amenities.

We only just got rid of the Rite Aid/Walgreens at South & East blvd. Guess we'll have to be patient

I'm a big fan of stores like CVS in urban areas. They're perfect for little everyday needs and will encourage a culture of walking to the store to pick up that one thing you suddenly realized you didn't have.

Sure just in a more urban format that fits in with its surroundings. The current CVS is the complete opposite.

I use to walk there all the time from my home off Nassau.  Probably hit up that CVS 2-3 times a week when lived in PM.  It would be nice for it to eventually be incorporated into a development that nicely supplements the Crosland development.

Agreed, I see CVSs in urban Northern Virginia that are on the first floors of apartment buildings, I think that works really nicely.
