Actually the launch tonight for Grandin Heights isn't the 89 townhomes going on Wesley Heights.  Grandin Heights will be in the empty field at W 4th and Grandin. The zoning request is for the old Cannon Cathedral site on Wesley Heights way.

True. I'd mostly like to see more of this on the stretch of 77 near Uptown. I don't mind the trees otherwise :)

No I hear you. When I lived in Charlotte in the early 90s there were great skyline views from 77. Today it is definitely obscured but I'll take an obscured skyline of 2018 over an unobscured skyline of 1992. :)

There's just something about a steel framed tower that I like, I don't know why really, maybe it was growing up watching Looney Toons and the never tired gag of having a distracted character stepping from steel beam to steel beam being hoisted high above the city streets. But regardless, when was the last really tall steel building built in Charlotte? I know 300 South Tryon is steel, but what about any others? It's hard to tell when they're done. I believer Hearst is steel, I may be wrong though.

Any other projects in this vicinity either under construction or planned in the near future beside Arlo Apts and theRefinery Office?  I wish that CCCP would include details on all projects within the close-in Center City neighborhoods  (like Plaza-Midwood, Wesley Heights, Optimist Park, etc)

Jack Beagles is great, but I'll miss Savor. Good food at a reasonable price.

I'm not terribly surprised though, the place seemed to be overlooked the last few years. It was rarely busy and honestly, the food quality had dipped some from where it was when it opened. I believe it was sold a few years ago, so maybe the decline coincided with that.
