Guess this is the best topic for these.  Has anyone been keeping tabs on the Refinery?  It's starting to take shape.

I've been waiting 2 months for details on this. I knew CitiSculpt was up to something with Office and Retail, I just didn't know Scope :-/. Wish I could have been the one with the Info first!

We just need to talk Ely Portillo into vetting his articles here before they go up ;)

W. Morehead apartments to break ground this year

The West Morehead corridor is popping these days, and a Charlotte developer plans to add to the boomlet with a 283-unit apartment complex planning to break ground in mid-summer.

Southern Apartment Group - a subsidiary of CitiSculpt - bought the land at West Morehead and Summit Streets in 2013 and 2014. The two parcels total a bit more than 3 acres. Lindsey McAlpine, CitiSculpt's managing partner, said the company has already started early work on the site.

McAlpine said "Stadium West" will have lower rents than the luxury units that are springing up on seemingly every corner in Charlotte. "This will really be a value play," said McAlpine.

There's a good bit of activity over there that tends to fly under the radar. As noted above, there's 708 Summit (35 units), Morehead West Apartments off of Millerton (270 units), Freedom Heights Apartments between Walnut & Woodruff, which should break ground very soon (77 units) and the proposed apartmetns at Morehead and Summit (326 units). I believe there's also an additional Phase II parcel at Wesley Village although I'm not sure how many units can fit or whether there are any plans to add units.
