That is the Gayoso Place apartments. They face Front Street right above the river bluff.

The amount of redevelopment in Memphis is amazing. They are redeveloping things so quickly in the central city area, its quite amazing. There is so much amazing material, I think it needs its own thread! So I'm making a new one in city discussions.

Finally after months of looking and asking, I get to see several images of downtown Memphis at street level. It seems like a minature New Orleans. Downtown looks dense and vibrant. Other than Detroit, this place will most likely be the next vacation spot for me. Thanks for posting these. Feel free to post more.

The aerial you posted is outdated a bit since the Pyramid is missing. Although its still an interesting aerial.

But it'll be REALLY outdated later this year when they blow up the 20 story BMH complex in the foreground and replace it with the bio-tech research park.

I love the density of Memphis shown in your pictures. The city looks interesting and a little mysterious. A real Mississippi River town with a long history and some great old building to go with the new. Thanks for the tour.
