Charleston Place to begin renovations
 
 
 
 

 

Of Orient-Express’ hotels, Charleston Place had the largest increase in adjusted EBITDA, or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, up $1.7 million for the second quarter compared with the prior-year period.

 

The second largest increase — up $1.2 million from the year prior — was Hotel Cipriani of Venice, Italy.

Cigar Factory to Rise Again...but not as Condos :(

 

Here’s an excerpt:

An investment group is closing in on a deal to reignite the long-stalled development of The Cigar Factory on the Charleston peninsula. Instead of residential condominiums as previously envisioned, the buyer of the historic vacant property is planning a mix of office and retail uses, said Richard Morse, a broker with Palmetto Commercial Properties, which is working with Roadstead Real Estate Advisors to lease the space.
