Are there any plans to update the streetscape along Cadillac Sq? It could use some new streetlights and landscaping to along with the new park

Yeah, the Bagely Center is something like 25 feet tall.

It looks nice. There are some amazing sight-lines back into Campus Martius that are finally being reclaimed. I'd personally like to see more pocket parks and square added downtown, and perhaps in Midtown.

It looks very nice but I was hoping for more grass. Or any grass actually, unless thats the groundcover in the planters.

Obviously you have to take what you can get, and I do like the way it looks, but I was also hoping for more grass. The rendering they have on the website ( www.campusmartiuspark.org ) had a large grassy area between the fountain and campusmartius. Detroit is already an overly paved urban space that needs more greenage.

I think that they might be planning to have festivals on this space because of the large amount of pavement.

Yeah, I bet it'll look great when the trees grow up, but that's going to be a long time. Don't they make some kind of super tree or anything? I want to see it next time I'm there! Trees are so slow.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that they should have waited at least until after Halloween before they started installing the ice skating rink at Campus Martius? I mean it is bad enough that we have to put up with Christmas decorations in September, but outdoor ice skating while we

it doesnt open until Nov 17th, so apparently they needed alot of time to set it up

It does take quite a while to assemble the rink. When I lived in Lansing I was in charge of assembling a similar system, and it takes a good 3 weeks to install everything.
