Farmer's market expands to site on the Southbank

Vendors from Hemming Plaza will also sell at new site on Wednesdays

Downtown's popular Farmer's Market expanded to the Southbank Wednesday as vendor Ed "The Rose Man" Jenkins unofficially led the endeavor's marketing campaign by charming female visitors with free flowers and good-natured teasing.

"Young lady, did you get a free sample yet?" he said to every woman passing by his stand on Flagler Avenue. And before they could answer, the 40-year-old Jenkins would present them with a rose and a smile as wide as the St. Johns River.
