Towns Differ On Highway Priorities List

Moore County and several towns disagree about a couple of highway projects Pinehurst and Southern Pines put on their annual lists sent to the N.C. Department of Transportation for further study and eventual construction.

Both municipalities have proposed connectors and other alternative routes to relieve congestion at the Pinehurst Traffic Circle.

This is one issue where NIMBYism is usually right - highway projects in rural / exurban areas too often influence too much development in the wrong areas, & then not enough developments / negative growth in the right areas.
