Anyone have any updates on the two-story old brick building at Pegram St / Belmont Ave (1127 Belmont Ave... the old grocery/pharmacy)?

I heard after the owner successfully rezoned it sold it to a commercial real estate owner (The same original owner that sold Siggy her building)... Which could be a good sign?

I sort of know, but out of respect for the owner can't disclose.

Generically, the plan is to reuse as opposed to demo.

I've been inside.  There's not even a floor...to use real estate agent euphemism, it's a blank slate!

I don’t understand why people have a problem with that color. It looks better than all these cheap red, green, and blue materials that they throw on every other apartment in town. This side of the apartment is how it looks before thy add those ugly color panels to it that don’t match or coordinate well all together.

Its because its literally fudging everywhere, and has absolutely no character.

They look more expensive and clean than just about about other apartment that mixes stucco, brick, and wood together and ends up looking so tacky. I get not having so much beige but i truly don’t even see that much of it in Charlotte.

Some photos today of this rapidly changing area.  I still think N Brevard will be one of the most changed streets in Charlotte in a couple of years and the transformation has started.

Alta Warp and Weft (at 25th st station) is now renting.

To my slight surprise the parking lot off 16th for the Duke Office Space at Optimist Hall is now gated and they just erected a short wood private fence between the lot and the tracks.

Can anyone explain again what exactly is going into these first floor spaces, and the corner? They seem very specifically made for something and doesn't seem like parking.

They seem too small (narrow) for amenities, and I thought someone else said this project won't have retail.

^^^^ My guess would be retail spaces however they might use for other uses in the meantime like fitness center, office etc.

Warp and Weft apartments aka Clemson apartments due to colors (which I like by the way)   11. apartments by Amelie's forget that complex name.

actually on their webpage it says early 2019.    Joking aside I just think renovations especially of historical buildings always take a little longer as "unexpected" things are found or have to be dealt with much more than a new build. 

Since local weathermen are foaming at the mouth about a few snowflakes tomorrow maybe they meant real spring weather which by the way is back on Wed.  Anyway it is spring until June 21st.

When I spoke to the Security guard and an employee at Duke they each said it's taking longer than expected, possibly intil Summer or Fall. But that is heresay

Any word on White Duck Taco coming to Belmont mills or did this fall through? If I remember correctly they were supposed to move in fall 2018.

I could not find anything new about it I love White Duck Taco and they have a facebook page for their Charlotte location but it has not been updated in months.   Maybe somebody else knows something about it but I am ready for Crispy Chicken BLT taco or a Bangkok shrimp one!

Noticed this on the Instagram of Warp and Weft. Looks like a market/food truck thing in OP. Would be cool if this brought some energy to the area.
