Greektown cuts plan for permanent casino

Considering all the broken promises, I think the casino contracts should be renegotiated. When Hendrix takes office he should force the casino companies to live up to their original proposals or hit the road. I don't think it would be too hard to find a gaming company willing to build what the city wants.

I've ALWAYS doubted that there would be permanent casinos. If you think of it, why would they want to expand and manage a hotel when they can get by with as little as they need and still be successful? I don't think any of the casinos every seriously thought they'd be forced to build hotel and move or build larger casinos.

I personally never liked the idea of Greektown moving locations. I think they should expand as much as they can at their current location. The casino is sort of the anchor of that district and will always ensure that Greektown will be a vibrant place.

I really want MGM to build its permanent casino. That part of town needs a major development to hopefully create some spin off.

As far as MCC I would like to see them hold off on a permanent place and work with Maroun and his vision for MCD and a convention center. The Illitches would be back in my good graces for awhile if they pulled that one off.
