The Gilmore Group Grows

Gibson's needed a serious remodel. With everything else that is happening in the Cherry/Diamond District, I hope this move adds to the vibrance.

Interestingly, the article in the press said that this means the future of the Fulton Street development (by D&W) is now in question. Must mean they are going to pour all of the cash into this concept.

Gilmore Group Buys Gibson's Restaurant

Grand Rapids - Gibson's restaurant on Lake Drive in Grand Rapids is closing.

Local restaurant owner Greg Gilmore is buying the mansion that houses the restaurant.

Gibson's will close on at the end of July.

The Gilmore Group will remodel and re-open the place as one of their restaurants.

The Gilmore Group includes "The Bob" and "Bite" in downtown Grand Rapids.

The Gilmore Group does seem to turn everything they touch into gold. I hope they make the place a bit less "stodgy" and more casual.
